The St.Regis Kuala Lumpur is elegant and airy, with switched-on staff, excellent restaurants, a pretty rooftop pool and a sublime spa. Add to that a handy location, within walking distance of Kuala Lumpur’s historic district and Sentral station, and you’re perfectly located for either business or pleasure.
The hotel sits opposite Sentral Station, which is a hub for the city’s three different rail lines, including the airport express link. Within walking distance are the lush Lake Gardens, the fabulous – and fabulously cheap – restaurants of Brickfields (Little India) and a clutch of interesting historic architecture, including the Moorish-inspired Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.
Address: The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur, Number 6 Jalan Stesen Sentral 2, Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Kuala Lumpur 50470, Malaysia.
Style & character
This sparkling high-rise hotel is serene and sophisticated, and attracts a cosmopolitan crowd of international business people, affluent locals and relaxed tourists. Pale grey marble, smoked mirrors and polo-inspired artworks adorn the lobby. There’s little to indicate you are in Malaysia but it’s a soothing aesthetic nonetheless.
Service & facilities
The smartly dressed staff are some of the best you’ll find in KL – cheerful, attentive and eager to please. The sixth-floor swimming pool, with its breezy cabanas, complimentary ice water and sunglass cleaning service, comes as a blessed relief from the city’s oppressive heat. Elsewhere, there’s a 24-hour fitness centre, a yoga studio and a soothing spa, which offers a wide range of treatments, from Malaysian-inspired massage to reflexology and customised ESPA facials.

- Room service
The 208 rooms are amongst the largest standard rooms in Asia. All feature a palette of cream, gray and teal, with full-length windows, large dressing rooms and swish marble bathrooms complete with concealed TVs, rainforest showers and Remède amenities. Extra pampering comes via the butlers, who will unpack and repack suitcases, press three items of clothing per day and deliver complimentary hot beverages on demand.
Food & drink
There are five restaurants and bars, including side-by-side Japanese restaurants Ginza Tenkuni, which serves traditional dishes such as tempura, miso and pickled vegetables, and Taka by Sushi Saito, a more modern affair helmed by the youngest sushi chef to be awarded three Michelin stars. The Brasserie serves up sensational breakfast – everything from Indian dosas to dim sum and scrambled eggs – and top-notch French cuisine throughout the rest of the day. The Astor Bar and adjacent Cigar Lounge emits a Boardwalk Empire vibe, while plush poolside bar Crystal offers up contemporary city glam.
